How to Read Nutrition Labels

I used to be the only one in the store reading nutrition labels. One day I either got bored or got too curious that I decided to spend the day at the supermarket going through the aisles reading labels. I found out there was not much I could buy. That was 7 years ago.

I’m not suggesting that you do the same, but I am suggesting that you watch the following free video on how to read nutrition labels. Jeff Novick, a former Kraft Food’s employee, does an excellent job depicting some of the common misconceptions people have about health foods, carbs, fats, sodium, no calories, and sugar. This video will shock and change some of your eating habits.

25 years ago I only had my calorie counter and fat handbook to guide me in my shopping, but now I can read everything on the package. That has been such a great help with sodium and fiber content. Also all the great organic and soy products that have been added. I used to have to shop at health food stores mostly, but things have changed so much. Just hope they are not lying to us, especially organic. You know, anything for a buck. Smiles, Marge
