Weight Loss “Magically” Reduces Blood Pressure

The magical beauty about weight loss is that when you lose weight, your blood pressure goes down, too.

Picture a feather and a Tylenol capsule.  When you blow air, the feather will no doubt fly away and the capsule may begin to roll but at a much slower pace.   You need to blow harder to make that capsule move, right?  Well, that’s sort of how blood pressure works.  Whenever you gain weight, your blood vessels expand because you need longer blood vessels to accommodate more nutrients to reach more body mass.  And the longer the blood vessels, the more pressure is needed to move those vessels.  Likewise, when you lose weight,  your blood vessels shrink and become lighter, so you don’t need as much pressure to move those blood vessels around.
