Oprah Gained Back All Her Weight!

Unbelievable!  All that hard work for nothing! The sweat…the hours spent at the gym…

I don’t agree with your comment. She may have gained some weight back but the hard work was worth something.

I saw that article and was going to post about it too. With all of her success and fame, it’s so heartbreaking that she puts herself down for gaining weight. I found the article sad because none of us should value ourselves only by our weight or appearance. I get so fed up with tabloids bashing women for gaining weight, then bashing women for being too skinny. Why all the focus on women’s weight anyway? Why doesn’t anything else seem to matter? I hope Oprah dusts herself off, gets back on the wagon, and feels strong again, but not to please the media.

At least it’s only 40 lbs and not ALL of the weight she had. She sounds like she has caught herself before she got to her full size (watch her in The Color Purple). She was HUGE in that movie and was well over 200 lbs. She should just take the wagon off herself, get back on and do it again. Hopefully the critics won’t be too hard on her and she can get back to work on losing the weight. Nothing worse than being criticized and beating yourself up. Plus, you can bet that the people criticizing her have NEVER had a weight problem and so could NEVER empathize. I hope she loses it and I’d support her. She’s a beautiful woman!

You know what pisses me off about that article… it says…. that she was so upset about the weight gain, but it never stopped her from eating. Of course that is how WE ALL HAVE GAINED WEIGHT…. excess eating and not enough working out. No kidding! Oprah is amazing for all that she has done, but she did the thing we all forget to do sometimes and that is to forget to be #1 in our own lives. Shame on anyone who judges another! Hugs to this amazing woman who has done so much for the people she has touched. She will get back too it, but she will do what we all must do and that is to work at it, everyday.

Okay, so I wasn’t going to read this blog because I think celebrities are “over hyped” to begin with. Here is what I think…she battles with the same thing we all battle with. Making ourselves top priority. I know when I see even a slight gain I get disappointed and want to haul ass off the wagon. It took me a LONG TIME to realize that I have to keep myself top priority or I’m not going to be around for those I love and those that love me. I too disagree with your comment about how it was all for nothing. For those of us that struggle every day with priorities this journey has been about so much more than weight loss for me. It has been about finding my inner strength. It has been about growing a back bone. And it now has become a show of force that celebrities are just like the rest of us. Sure she worked to get it off…and didn’t have to work to put it on. But you know what? She can get it off again!!! If only she had people like my fellow buddyslimmers giving her a helping hand! For once I can say that I’m richer than Oprah!

I had to come back on and comment. You know just because she is a celebrity, doesn’t mean she doesn’t share the same troubles we go thru. And all her work is not a waste, we all did stuff and gained it back, but we gained KNOWLEDGE, and that is never a waste, and Anj is right she doesn’t have the support network wer do.
We sure can’t judge her at all.
